I had the pleasure of receiving the treatment from the innovator herself–internationally renowned esthetician, Elaine Sterling. The facial combines Sterling’s European standard training and techniques with American scientific technology of powerful active ingredients, yielding clinical results that address the signs of aging.
When you arrive for your service, you’ll be escorted to a private room, adorned with glowing amber ambiance and gilded art deco pieces. Your ears are treated to smooth jazz tunes reminiscent of Hollywood’s golden age, and you’ll feel like a screen star as you are enveloped by the warmth of the heated blanket, are treated to sweet scents of aromatherapy, and feel the magic touch of your therapist’s hands during the facial, decollete, hand, and scalp massage.
But don’t let the inherent glamour and luxe atmosphere of the treatment fool you–the Emerald Peel contains potent clinical ingredients that treat skin concerns, including fine lines, wrinkles and hyperpigmentation. A blend of alpha-hydroxy acids such as mandelic and azelaic and precious mineral actives including quartz and powdered pearl work in tandem to restore the complexion and refine skin’s texture. The treatment also provides an infusion of rich moisture through application of Sterling’s signature Hydrating Marine Mask, the cool texture of which serves as a refreshing complement to the Emerald Peel and an excellent massage medium for the ensuing Ice Massage.
The designer Ice Massage is performed with cooling crystal globes which lift, tone and improve the health of the skin through promoting lymphatic drainage. As your therapist glides the globes on your face over the soothing layer of the chilled marine mask, you’ll certainly feel the benefits of increased circulation and intense relaxation. The cool eye compress is an added touch to the experience.
At the conclusion of the treatment, my skin glowed and was visibly brighter and more even. Being a sodium fiend, I also noticed that the residual puffiness in my face from last night’s meal had vanished.
